Door ke Darshan

Doordarshan more precisely known as ‘Door ke Darshan’. The Indian broadcast service which has remained truly untouched with the way it was presented. The look and feel has been the same today, though the content and presentation has upgraded from the past.
Remember the good old days when cable, dish and satellite TV were not the part of our daily routine. Doordarshan was the only available source of information, education and entertainment. Some things never change like the news reader of doordarshan or the duration of brakes. It’s just the same. The only channel you could see after years with some changes and would feel like “Aaj bhi waise hi hai”.

Have a look at the video clip; this is a sequence from a program called gali gali sim sim one of my favorites on DD these days. Check the link.

ya.. i always wondered the thing..
the channel hasnt changed their style much.. especially the news.
there has been no difference at all though the faces may be new..
it always gives a warm "good old days" feeling watching this channel :-)

yet it is not upgraded
ever in his whole journey from when start to now
but still it is useful when any other sports channel is not coming on TV during cricket matches and at that time i loved DOORDARSHAN
and also when cable then it is the only channel that coming and for timepass
its not bad

Gal... have stopped watching doordarshan long ago... but to telll you the truth... Old day Doordarshan was fabulous... in terms of content, message and everything.... I have my own share of grievances from the national broadcaster but one thing is for sure... DD has to live its role of public broadcaster and hence can not become Sony overnight... but again the effort to improve is also not there.... :)

Does it mean that Change is not always necessary for more profit, from a Marketing point of view?

DD hasnt changed a bit though the faces and content has been upgraded, s is their style... but yes maybe that is why whenever u switch it on u r reminded of family, chai cuppas, togetherness and that one imp movie that no one would miss...

I got no TV 'here'.
And 'there' I get only free to air DTH channels, which is 80 % DD.

So DD rocks!

And its a really relaxing experience too!
